UGC has introduced DDU KAUSHAL KENDRAS (DDUKK) for promoting vocational education in continuation to its initiatives for introducing community colleges and B.Voc Programmes realizing the importance and the necessity for developing skills among students, and creating work ready manpower on large scale.

CUSAT aims at providing quality vocational education through DDUKK combining class room centered formal education and training with experience sharing of Industry practitioners and internships in business houses. The focus is towards integrated knowledge acquisition and upgrading human skill towards creating a new league of employable youth. Teaching and training methodology of courses offered under DDUKK are designed accordingly



  • Skilled Manpower
    • Create skilled manpower for industry requirements at various levels of expertise.

  • Vertical and Horizontal Mobility
    • To provide vertical and horizontal mobility to and from short term diploma courses to post graduate programme.

  • Supplementary Modular Training Programmes
    • To provide supplementary modular training programmes according to job roles at NSQF Level 5 onwards by conducting assessment and certification with respective Sector Skill Councils (SSCs), so that a learner, irrespective of his/her training background, is made job ready with necessary work skills ie. Core skills plus (soft, communication, ICT skills etc) thus fill the gaps in the domain skills.

  • Judicious Mix of Skills
    • To provide judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education with flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.

  • Integrate NSQF
    • To integrate NSQF within the graduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements.
