The Cochin University Library was established in 1975 as a central agency for meeting the information requirements of the academic community of the University and for collection, organization and dissemination of information. Being the heart of a science and technology university, the Cochin University Library has been exploring all the possibilities and advancements of technological applications to transform itself from a conventional library to a most modern library.
A computer lab is a space which provides computer services to a defined community. Computer labs are typically provided by libraries to the public, by academic institutions to students who attend the institution, or by other institutions to the public or to people affiliated with that institution.

Cochin University Hostels as a residential unit foster community living, provide security for students, who cannot live alone or even in small groups in the unfamiliar circumstances. The Central Office for University Hostels helps students in getting accommodation in the campus hostels, situated centrally in the Common Facility Centre, the office takes care of the hostel admission to new students, governed by a set of Hostel Rules and a Hostel Advisory Committee.
